Vera Wang Spring 2017
Like most modern trends of individuality, wedding dresses should be the most personal and individual of them all. Though looking through the leaders of haute corture fashion this year I've found two very distinct tastes. The first a modern and clean design consisting of stiff, plain materials and a sleek shape. The second a more fun and romantic taste. Layers with multiple textures, lace, volume and different fabric types. What has surprised me the most is that these are so contrasted but have been found in the same collections.
You'll find the most prominent features of this years designs below.
The Sweet Heart
A soft sweet heart neck line. Paired with texture such as a lace over lay or extended neckline and sleeves
Overlays and Sheer Fabrics
Another soft feature; tulle, chiffon, feathers, lace, and every other soft texture you can imagine. Layer upon layer for more effect.
Most of the designs this year were pefectly symmetrical. However the ones that made a feature out of non symmetry really caught the eye.
Veils of length
If you are holing up tradition you will need a veil. This year is all about length and simplicity with just a small detail such as a border or sprinkle of intricate lace or flowers.
A line skirts
Crediting the modern simplicity, A line skirts would be the safest way to go.
Open shoulder sleeves
The sleeves are slightly oversized giving the illusion of a romantic 'slipping off the shoulder' effect.
Over exaggerated neck features are displayed here, translating into a more modest modern bride.
18th Century flash backs
Like the queens of the 18th century a full layer skirt with an open front is placed over the dress skirt to create another layer that shows the fabric of both.
I hope I have inspired you to get creative and imagine your own 2017 wedding dress, individual, bold, intricate and stunning!
Cake! Cake! Glorious Cake!

While the ivory and lace has ruled weddings for the past century, we are now living at a time where traditions are few and far between. Individuals celebrate their differences and the world is now filled with such variety it makes my head swirl! So brides to be, I'm here to give you some inspiration to pick your perfect truly you-nique wedding dress! Enjoy!
While we're not straying too far from tradition, a floral wedding dress is perfect for a natural, colorful wedding while being different, but tasteful. And keeping grandma happy of course.
If your the glitz and glam kind of girl then I've got you covered. Sparkle down the isle looking like a true queen in gold shineys.
If you're a lady of texture then I recommend amazing gowns that are more artwork than clothes. Raw edges, strategic cuts and a beautiful bride.
Give grandma a drink before you tell her about your new favorite colour... Black isn't for the dead, it's for the very much alive! Wearing black can create striking photos and a wedding day no one will forget.
We all love travel and yummy food right? So why not unleash the oriental flavors into your wardrobe?
How could i possibly leave out the most obvious choice for those waiting for their happily every after? Show off your inner princess and dance the night away.
Whatever your inner stylist is telling you, may you have the most wonderful day of your life in the dress of your dreams.
Can't find the perfect dress in store? I do custom orders!
Aloha! It's been a while since I've posted, I've been working my fingers raw from all this stitching!
However while I have a moment to sit in the air con I want to tell you of a little idea of mine. As this wonderful year has gone by I've been getting quite a bit of work from weddings and engagements. I've always loved making the gorgeous dresses and custom fitting and in light of all this have directed my business toward the wedding and formal market.
This is where you come in. As a solo business owner I have come to realize the importance of "word of mouth" and recommendations. The more I thought about it the more I came to realize how many people I know that have their own business or are free lance specialists. I want to support my friends and acquaintances, and help their business grow. After all you "reap what you sew." (no pun intended) This is where you come in. I believe if you give free you receive free and thus want to open myself up to any small or solo business that is interested.
As I'm heading towards a wedding and formal market I am looking to give information that can benefit my customers. I want to give them the ultimate guide to where to go, who to hire and obviously what to wear. Not only that but i also want them to know that their money is going to someone who is local or a solo business or artist that can fill all their needs.
So if you or someone you know fits into this category pretty please leave me a message and we can get promoting!! The contact information, picture and description will be displayed on this guide page for all to see.
Here are some guidelines for what I'm looking for:
What do I want from this? Simply to help my customers out with a good guide, and also to help out my fellow entrepreneurs. I believe if you give free you receive free. So what do you say?!? Are you up to joining the network? Will we become allies?
Thank you for reading an I hope to team up with you soon!

I will do my best at keeping you all updated on my drawings doing one a day!
Remember to never compare yourself to others or their work, progress on your self and see by the end of the 30 days how much you have improved and learnt.
All the best!
"Real fashion has no rules!" So we are told. So consider these guidelines as you find an outfit both uniquely you and socially acceptable. It's true; weddings are hard to dress for! That is no secret. But, I will share with you some of my secrets, to make sure you are dressed beautifully and appropriately.
Skin or no skin?
A little skin.
I know you want to show off your new tan lines but this is not the place! Choose your best feature and show it off... but not too much ;)
Unless the invitation states otherwise... do not wear white! Only the bride should be in white, this is her day. Avoid the colours of the bridal party in block if you can - the invitation might give you some clues.
Patterned, floral, plain, textured and geometric are all acceptable. Put your own flair into your style.
Don't Steal the Show
We all love to look our best - especially when we are meeting new people. No you don't have to dress like your grandma but please do not try to rise above the bride or the bridal party! You may not intend to, but keep in mind that this is not the Grammy awards and the red carpet is not layed out for you today. You are a guest, and guests show respect for their hosts.
Dress respectfully, modestly and a little tasty
Share this with your fellow guests and enjoy a beautiful wedding with beautiful people. ^.^
I know what its like, you have a budget to stick to, you shop in your budget, you find that one item that you adore, you picture yourself wearing it, you get that fuzzy feeling inside and make it to the checkout only to find that shipping is going to break the bank. I know exactly how that feels, you have two choices, break the bank and spend the rest of the week feeling guilty or let it go and buy something you know won't satisfy that unsatisfied feeling inside.
Well I've come to save the day! As more and more people are shopping online it is hard to ignore that although the prices may be cheaper, you don't have to make any effort and there is so much variety, shipping costs suck. That is why I have decided to offer my customers FREE SHIPPING! No added costs, no going over budget, peace of mind and satisfaction guaranteed! Not only do I offer free shipping but don't forget the risk free buy - 100% Money back guarantee if you are unsatisfied with your product.
Although shipping costs are only free to Australia, I will be working hard for lower shipping costs overseas and hopefully one day free shipping worldwide!
Yes. We've all been there... 'There's nothing to eat' 'Why didn't you tell me they were coming for dinner!?!?' 'Quick! I need to cook something, _________ is coming for lunch"
Well you will never be stuck again for those surprise guests or those too lazy to cook moments. You can get rid of all the leftovers and bits and pieces in the fridge you forgot were there and... Impress your guests!
30 Minute Gourmet Pizza
I can't say this is really a recipe because everyone's pantries are different. However I can give you some tips for a fancy looking spread. I guarantee there are many things you didn't think to put on a pizza, let me help you with a list of ingredients you might find in your kitchen to get started... You can download the PDF below and put it on your fridge!
Now put all your ingredients onto a chopping board and slice away. Cover the base in a sauce of your choice, sprinkle the toppings evenly and you are good to go. Cooking time will vary depending on toppings and base so 10-20min in a moderate oven should do it. Below are some more variations to try. Now that you have no excuses... put that apron on!
Please like and share this post! Leave a comment or let me know if you give this a go! Until next time... happy eating.
